An Electronic Legacy explores a research process where artificial intelligence is examined through its genealogy, spanning different generations of tools. The installation creates a dialogue between the photographs of wildfires I took in California in 2016 and a selection of images generated by a GAN, which I trained using the first 5,000 photos from my initial visit to California. During training, the GAN was "contaminated" by the wildfire images in the dataset, virtually spreading the fire throughout the process. Finally, a film I created using prompts based on the GAN-generated images completes the installation, linking these visual processes with my image database.
